Overview
Begin your adventure by meeting your guide at the activity provider’s office and setting off for a scenic 4-kilometer drive to Nungwi. Along the way, there’s a brief stop at a local shop where you can buy small gifts, like food, to share with the local community.
Afterwards, the journey takes you off-road through stunning rice fields, where your guide will share insights into the island’s economy, culture, and traditions. Next, ride through the heart of the island until you reach a local village, where you’ll spend an hour. Here, you’ll interact with friendly villagers, play with the children, and enjoy fresh seasonal fruits, including coconut water (madafu).
Continue to the House of Mad in Kidoti and explore a typical village home while learning about Zanzibarian life. Take a break to visit spice plantations, including cinnamon, cloves, and lemongrass, all grown by the locals.
The adventure wraps up in Nungwi fishermen’s community, where you’ll learn about the unique contrast between coastal and rural lifestyles. After a short beachside rest, you’ll return to the starting point, refreshed and enriched by this unforgettable experience.
