Common Questions

Everything you need to know about your Zanzibar transfers, rentals, and adventures.

Booking & Payments

1. How do I book with Turtle Tours?
Booking is easy! You can use our website forms, send an email, or chat with us directly via WhatsApp. For transfers and day tours, we often provide instant confirmation. For larger packages, we send a custom itinerary and secure payment link.
2. What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard), PayPal, and direct international bank transfers. For some local services like taxi transfers, cash (USD or TZS) is also accepted upon arrival.

Transfers & Rentals

3. Where will my driver meet me at the airport?
Your driver will be waiting outside the arrivals hall at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) holding a sign with your name and the Turtle Tours logo. We monitor your flight status to ensure we are there on time, even if your flight is delayed.
4. Do I need a special permit to rent a motorbike?
Yes. In Zanzibar, an International Driving Permit (IDP) is required, OR we can help you obtain a local Temporary Zanzibar Driving Permit for a small fee. You just need to send us a copy of your valid home license in advance.

Zanzibar Life

5. What is the best time to visit Zanzibar?
Zanzibar is beautiful year-round! The dry season (June to October) offers the best beach weather. December to February is also very popular and warm. We recommend avoiding the "long rains" in April and May if you want maximum sunshine.
6. Is there a dress code in Zanzibar?
Zanzibar is a predominantly Muslim island. While swimwear is fine on the beach and in resorts, we kindly ask you to dress modestly (covering shoulders and knees) when walking through villages or Stone Town out of respect for the local culture.
